XDB is the native token of the DigitalBits blockchain. The DigitalBits blockchain is focused on powering consumer digital assets such as branded currencies, branded stablecoins, as well as emerging asset categories such as NFTs and fan tokens.
The XDB token (XDB) is currently hosted on the Ethereum blockchain as a receipt token. Receipt token means that users who hold the ERC-20 version of XDB, are eligible to claim the DigitalBits mainnet version of XDB.
As the native token of the DigitalBits blockchain, the XDB Token (XDB) serves three main objectives:
- XDB can be used for fast and low-cost micropayments and remittances.
- The token is required to stake a minimum balance of XDB in order to be authenticated and activate the send function. This acts as an anti-spam measure against malicious entities that may look to flood the network.
- XDB is used to pay for transaction fees on the DigitalBits blockchain.
CoinPayments has now fully integrated the ERC-20 version of XDB and merchants may now begin accepting payments in XDB for their online shop.
